On Wednesday, Twitter CEO Elon Musk hinted that he would reveal additional details about how the social media platform blocked the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 presidential race.

The network was acquired by the world's richest man last month, and he made his views apparent late Wednesday when he reacted to a Twitter user who questioned whether the internal discussions that led to the filtering decision should be revealed.

Elon Musk to Expose Twitter's Hunter Biden Story

Alex Lorusso, a news personality, encouraged followers to "raise your hand" if they favored making public "the internal deliberations concerning the decision to conceal the @NYPost's report on Hunter Biden's laptop."

"This is vital to reestablish public trust," Musk answered, according to Fox News. As of Thursday afternoon, Musk's tweet has been retweeted over 12,900 times and liked over 153,000 times.

Before his $44 billion buyout, Musk chimed in on The Post vs. Twitter saga, claiming in April that the platform's action was irresponsible. The corporation did not immediately reply to The Post's request for comment on Thursday. When The Post originally published its blockbuster story on the cache of emails discovered on Hunter's laptop in October 2020, Twitter and Facebook launched extreme filtering steps against it.

The network, then led by CEO Jack Dorsey, barred users from sharing the post and shut The Post out of its Twitter account for more than two weeks due to unsubstantiated accusations the piece utilized stolen data, as per New York Post.

FBI Insists There's No Fabricated Details in Hunter Biden Laptop Scandal

Multiple newspapers downplayed the scandal, social media firms ensured articles were blocked, and whistleblowers allege FBI agents went out of their way to hinder investigations. In March 2021, DailyMail.com validated the laptop and became the first - and only - news company to officially verify its contents using expert analysis.

Brad Maryman, the firm's founder, was a 29-year FBI veteran who served as Chief Information Security Officer and established the bureau's cyber forensics branch. His spouse, Dr. Joseph Greenfield, is an associate professor at the University of Southern California who helped develop their intelligence and cyber operations degree program.

Greenfield and Maryman created a report for DailyMail.com explaining their conclusions after conducting a comprehensive study of the hard drive. The operating system timestamps appear to be genuine, and no evidence was discovered to imply that the timestamps or data were changed or created.

"There was no evidence that the data was fabricated," according to the report. Since then, DailyMail.com has published a series of unsettling pieces based on the scandalous information from Hunter's laptop, which are vital to the FBI's investigation into his alleged tax evasion, foreign lobbying, and potential money laundering.

The New York Times reported in March 2022 that they have established the validity of the laptop. In a September 2021 news report, The Times referred to the material on the laptop as 'purported,' 'in doubt,' and even 'unsubstantiated,' before discreetly removing the phrase.

While the Times battles the State Department, DailyMail.com readers learned months ago that one very senior State Department official, then-US ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm, interacted with Hunter's team and met with Hunter to discuss Popoviciu's case in 2016.

In 2021, Jack Maxey, a political activist and former Steve Bannon podcast co-host who handed the laptop to DailyMail.com, said he also offered the Post a copy last summer. In the spring of 2021, DailyMail.com received a copy of Hunter's laptop hard drive from Maxey.

In September 2020, John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the computer store where Hunter left his laptop, gave a copy of its hard drive to Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Daily Mail reported.
