The Brooklyn Nets are interested in trading veteran guard Jason Terry for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jarrett Jack, according to ESPN.
"League sources say Nets have interest in Cavs' Jarrett Jack," ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk tweeted on Monday. "Once source says Jason Terry for Jack could be a possibility before deadline."
Jack, who's averaging 8.5 points and 3.7 assists this season, hasn't provided Cleveland with the scoring off the bench they'd hoped. Jack signed a four-year, $25.2 million contract in July with Cleveland after two strong seasons as a reserve with New Orleans and Golden State.
While the trade would free up future cap space for Cleveland, it's uncertain how interested Brooklyn is in becoming tied to Jack, whose fourth year is a team option, for the next three seasons.
Nets point guard Shaun Livingston has proven more than capable backing up the oft-injured Deron Williams and is averaging 7.7 points and 3.1 assists per game through the season.
Livingston's contract expires after the season, and Terry is due $5.45 million next season before he becomes a free agent.
