A Bronx man was gunned down by an angry housemate, who was complaining due to the loud noise where the murder happened.
Crimes Due to Loud Noise
Last Sunday, the police said the killer did the crime where the victim and accused shared, reported NY Daily News.
Based on the details disclosed, the unidentified 39-year-old victim was shot in the chest before 7:30 pm on Saturday. The crime scene is a three-story multifamily home located in Pelham Gardens, close to Morgan Ave. near Arnow Ave., noted CBS News.
After getting shot, EMTs took the victim to the Jacobi Medical Center, where he passed away from the fatal injury. The police did not announce the name of the victim.
When his wife, whose name was also not given by the authorities, was asked about what happened. She added that they are about to move in two weeks, but she has become a widow with four boys to take care of.
Angry Housemate Shot Bronx Man
Disclosed was the setup of the two who lived in the house, where they occupied different floors. It was learned the shooter had been complaining about the noise of the victim for some time, commented the police.
One of the victim's relatives, a sister, told the family is in disbelief over what happened to the victim, who got shot dead nonsensically. She added it was the wrong time to comment, as someone was just shot there. She remarked that she was tired and other family members were not available, and the victim's mother was speechless, citing Yahoo Finance.
Police said the shooter was identified and were looking for him last Sunday. Many of the neighbors were shocked at what happened to the man.
One of the residents, called Rick, said the neighborhood was quiet and somewhat typical, with nothing so unusual most of the time. He added that it shook him that something so violent could happen in the place.
Murders Down Compared to Previous Year
Before the incident last Saturday, records show homicides went down by 37% in 2022 in the 49th Precinct area, with Pelham Gardens as part of its coverage. On December 11, there were only eight homicides compared to last year.
An increase of gun-related incidents has risen by a whopping 56%, according to the precinct, when compared to only 16 incidents of violence connected to a firearm a year ago.
Another crime also happened before the shooting, also caused by loud music, as in the report, which was a stabbing incident that left one dead in a Manhattan homeless shelter.
The victim, identified as Victoria Goode, 27, was stabbed fatally in the sixth-floor hallway of the Project Renewal Shelter. Located on E. 45th St. near Third Ave., last Friday at 10 pm, remarked the police.
Accused of stabbing Goode is her roommate, Charmaine Crossman, 42, who killed her for playing loud music. The police are after her but have not yet apprehended her for the crime. A similar crime, with the angry housemate gunning down a Bronx man, shook the neighborhood, which did not expect such a violent occurrence.
