According to a forthcoming book, President Joe Biden voiced frustration with Vice President Kamala Harris during their early months in office.
Biden learned that Kamala Harris' husband, Douglas Emhoff, was complaining about her policy portfolio, which her supporters feared was a political liability for her. According to reports, this annoyed the incoming US leader.
Joe Biden 'Annoyed' With 'Work in Progress' Kamala Harris
Chris Whipple writes in 'The Fight of His Life' that Biden was annoyed, according to an extract published on Tuesday. "He had not asked Harris to do anything he had not done as vice president, and she had pleaded with him for the voting rights assignment."
Whipple claimed that the president informed a friend that Harris was "a work in progress." It appears that Biden was not her alone critic. In the book, a top White House aide fumes that Harris' "close circle did not serve her well during her presidential campaign, and they continue to do so today."
Fifty-three percent of registered voters disapproved of Harris as of last week, while 39% held a positive impression, according to a Los Angeles Times synthesis of multiple surveys. Another computation revealed that Biden's disapproval rating was 51.4%.
The Times observed that the vice president's adversaries grew once she was assigned the problem of halting immigration at the border. Whipple, author of the best-selling chief-of-staff biography "The Gatekeepers," had "exceptional access" during the first two years of the Biden administration, according to the book description (coming out on January 17).
He told Politico that Biden's top employees sought quotation permission and that Biden and Harris decided to only answer questions in writing, refusing certain sensitive issues.

Biden is Expected to Seek Re-Election
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has signaled his intention to compete for re-election in the 2024 election. Although it is natural for a sitting president to seek reelection, Biden's age complicates his campaign.
Biden was the oldest American president at age 78. He will be 82 years old when he runs for re-election. There are groups within Biden's Democratic Party that oppose his candidacy in 2024. Biden's detractors among the Conservatives have similar sentiments.
This may not be a significant problem, though, given his support within the party has increased since the US midterm elections, in which Democrats performed better than anticipated. Nonetheless, inflation and poor voter approval ratings remain an issue. Biden is anticipated to explore the possibility of another campaign with those closest to him as he goes for his Christmas break from Washington.
If he chooses to make an announcement the next year, he will begin a campaign when his approval ratings are low and inflation is high. According to the polling and statistics news website FiveThirtyEight, Biden has a 42.9 percent favorable rating as of December 16.
Per Outlook India, the gradual decline of the pandemic would increase the pressure on the president to address big audiences in person, a setting in which he is occasionally shaky.
Biden's status among his party has improved since the midterm elections, when Democrats retained the Senate and Republicans made minor gains in the House. He has long maintained that he is the greatest candidate for his party against former President Donald Trump, who has already launched his third run for the White House.
