The Christmas holiday season is a time for families and loved ones, even friends, to get together and enjoy each other's company while celebrating festivities.
On top of holiday food, another valuable bonding experience is playing Christmas party games to build relationships and foster closeness. The five games on this list will guarantee that even the lamest Christmas party is eventful and full of cheers and laughs.
1. Candy Cane 4x1 Relay
People who have a sweet tooth will definitely enjoy this game, even more so if they also like to play to win. The basics of this game are that there is a team relay where people will be walking and passing by candy canes, similar to a relay baton, to see who can finish their laps first.
Each team would need three to four players and each one needs to have a candy cane and each team needs to have one extra candy cane. The people who organize this game will also need some tape to mark the starting and finish lines.
When the players run to their teammates, the first runner needs to hook his/her candy cane to the next player's candy cane that they are already holding. This is repeated until all runners have finished passing from start to finish and have hooked all of their candy canes together, as per PlayPartyPlan.
2. Sled Races
If candy canes or sweets, in general, are not your thing but you still enjoy the cold, snowy outdoors, then sled races will surely tickle your fancy. You can play this game by lining up the players at the top of a hill separated by a safe distance to prevent crashes and signaling them to race, with the first to the bottom winning.
3. Christmas Family Trivia
What is a family get-together during Christmas if you don't get a chance to reconnect with loved ones who live far away or ones that you have not met in a very long time. A little bit of a trivia game is a simple way of getting your brains working and at the same time getting closer to your family.
GoodHouseKeeping said that one way you can make this have a more Christmas family theme is by having each player write down a little-known fact about themselves on a piece of paper when they arrive and read them out loud after a dessert or during talk sessions. You can then have each person guess who they think the fact belongs to based on how well they know each other.

4. Santa Limbo
Simple, yes truly fun and enjoyable for the family to play is Santa limbo, where you will have participants wear a "Santa belly," making an already difficult game even more ridiculous. You can use anything, the most common of which is a pillow placed under their shirt, to make the belly.
Then, have participants try to limbo under a stick one by one and the winner is the Santa that gets past the stick without hitting it with their belly when it is at its lowest.
5. Christmas Carol Pictionary
No Christmas festivities would be complete without Christmas carols and a little bit of singing involving every person at the party. This game can be played by listing down Christmas carols on separate flash cards.
You then divide players into several teams and one person from each team will draw from the pile of cards with Christmas carols written on them. They will have one minute to act out the Christmas carol and have their teammates guess which one it is, as per Shutterfly.
While they may be many Christmas party games that you can play with your loved ones, the most important thing this holiday season is knowing that you will always have people in your life who will care about you and will enjoy moments with you.
