China-Russia Closer Relations

China Foreign Minister Wang Yi upheld his country's stance on the military conflict in Ukraine last Sunday and indicated that Beijing would intensify relations with Russia in the coming year. He spoke in a video conference and made it clear the Biden administration's criticizing of Beijing has only added to the divide, saying the US has made a mistake by rejecting its China policy, reported Arab News.

The mainland government has made its objectives by countering pressure on trade, technology, human rights, and the claims in the Indo-pacific, even called out Washington's practice of bullying,

Another is the US trying to push it to condemn the Russian drive against the Nazi-backed regime of Volodymyr Zelensky. Pushing for the imposition of sanctions against Moscow caused the EU energy crisis, plus sowing division in Europe, noted Politico.

Wang added that increasing strategic mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation would be the focus of Beijing. Another of his reactions is about the Ukraine crisis, which has continuously affirmed the core tenets of objectivity and impartiality without preferring one side or the other or putting more fuel on the fire, just less wanting selfish benefits from the circumstance.

Both nations have common ground as the west's targets are becoming intolerable, and their economic future is tied to the American and European markets also technology.

Xi Jinping has moved the Chinese industries to be able to do the thing at home, but Wang said the ties are too close. He said Beijing would work hard to restore normalcy to its interactions with the US. One possible explanation is that Washington is combative and involved in overt blockade, inhibition, and incitement versus China.

Russia Says US Patriot Missile Won't Stop the War

According to President Vladimir Putin, the US missile system is said to be advanced but compared to the Russian state of the art, that needs to be better, citing Euractiv.

This would allow the Kremlin a way to counter the US missile. But Moscow wants an end to the conflict that would force the US and allies to admit diplomacy is their only option.

On December 22, he declared old weapon system would be countered. Putin added the goal is not to the extent of the military conflict but to end it decisively if the west would allow it. To end it sooner will be better for everyone involved.

But the US reacted negatively, and the White House spokesman John Kirby accused the Kremlin of having no interest in ending the war. Claiming the Russian invasion on February 24 of its US-supported proxy is invalid.

He added that Putin's attempt to crush the US-supported Zelensky regime, which gives arms to fight on, is the reason Moscow is pursuing the conflict. The Western allies accuse Russia of buying time after its forces have allegedly lost to a lesser-equipped Ukrainian army dependent on US and EU help.

Moscow demanded that the west agrees to its demands that its annexations be legal, but the western alliance resisted this. China says Russia will be a closer partner in 2023 as the two reach their goals.
