Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated last Sunday that Russia is ready to resupply Europe with natural gas via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.
Russian Deputy PM Announces Resumption of Gas Supplies
After the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war last February, the gas supplies were cut due to the shenanigans of the EU and Washington. PM Novak told the state news outlet TASS that the gas would be supplied if the bloc had the political will.
He said that the European market remains viable, even as the gas shortage endures, and has every possibility of reinstating supplies. For instance, the Yamal-Europe pipeline, which was blocked for partisan reasons, remains untouched, reported Republic World.
Novak reaffirmed that more European countries are now writing to request gas and verbally communicating. Innumerable European nations placed sanctions on Moscow as a consequence of the Russia-Ukraine dispute that arose in February of this year. This same dispute also impacted the flow of Russian gas to Europe.
Bloc Countries Demand Russian Gas
According to the Russian official, EU requests for restoring Russian gas imports have increased since the recent cutoff. He added that it is a wanted commodity and that demand is very persistent.
He continued by saying that despite the strain on its relationship with Brussels, it still needs the energy to survive. Nevertheless, Europe is a potential market for goods. It is clear that a significant campaign against Russia was launched, which ultimately resulted in sabotage acts against Nord Stream.
Imports to the EU will be routed through the Yamal-Europe pipeline, which was shut down in May 2022. The pipeline passes through Poland, which supplies gas to Berlin.
Last May, the Kievan administration was blamed for the reduced flow in Europe, and Russia was blamed for causing the problem.
Then, the Russian gas supply company Gazprom opted to stop gas delivery via the Yamal-Europe pipeline, which impacted an already terrible energy crisis for greater Europe.
An instance in December turned worse as the gas supply going to Berlin and Warsaw ended with no supplies delivered. It made the plight worse as winter came, how the conflict in Ukraine has affected the whole world and made instability more terrible, and a threat of a nuclear attack is feared.
But Moscow wants it to end, but Zelensky and his western backers are preventing a diplomatic solution.
Ex-Russian President Seeks To Settle the Conflict
For years and trying to make the Kremlin the US and allies are dead ends to even promote a deal with, ex-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called out the West for causing a rift that will linger for a long time, per RT News.
He is now part of the National Security Council as its chair, and he wrote in an article last Sunday about how in 2022, the West would prove it cannot be trusted. NATO and the US must not be taken at face value but with their intentions in mind.
He added that more blocs are coming in the future, and Russia will be in that multipolar world order.
The Russian Deputy PM said the need for natural gas by the EU and the world is important. Bloc members should be more practical and refrain from following external influences.
