Jimmy Fallon made his "Tonight Show" debut with the help of his celebrity pals.
"I'm Jimmy Fallon, and I'll be your host -- for now," Fallon said during the show opening.
The new late night host began the show talking about a $100 bet he made with his "buddy" claiming he'd never land the hosting gig.
"To my buddy who said that I'd never be the host of 'The Tonight Show,' and you know who you are," Fallon said, "you owe me a hundred bucks, buddy."
To the audience's surprise, it wasn't one buddy who came on stage to hand the show host a wad of cash. Robert DeNiro, Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, Lady Gaga, Rudy Guliani, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Mike Tyson, Joe Namath, Joan Rivers, Stephen Colbert and Mariah Carey all took turns handing their $100 over to Fallon.
Fallon explained to the crowd many of his "Late Night" skits will be carried over to the "Tonight Show". With the help of actor Will Smith, Fallon was able to create one of the first "Evolution" skits titled "The Evolution of Hip Hop Dancing."
The skit began with the Cabbage Patch, eventually transitioning to the "MC Hammer" dance then to the "Carlton" where Tom Jones "It's Not Unusual" blasted on set. However, Smith wasn't having it when Fallon began twerking Miley Cyrus style, ending the skit.
Fallon is set to have a star studded "Tonight Show" debut this week with special guests First Lady Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and more. Though Fallon won't have a problem getting A-list celebrities on his show, he might struggle to keep up with Jay Leno's ratings.
"Fallon could very well have a hard time maintaining Leno's ratings lead. It's hard to imagine core 'Tonight' viewers, older than Fallon's, sticking with his signature bits," The Chicago Tribune reports.
