Lisa Marie Presley, Nicolas Cage's Tumultuous Marriage

Lisa Marie Presley and Nicolas Cage had a whirlwind relationship and a very costly argument, as per Mirror. The much-loved singer, the daughter of the renowned Elvis Presley and his ex-wife Priscilla, was involved in four marriages, two of which included highly famous individuals.

She fell in love with the Hollywood actor while attending the birthday celebration of Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone with her then-fiance, Hawaiian musician John Oszajca. Nicholas, who at the time was still married to Patricia Arquette, reportedly fell completely over heels for Lisa Marie. Supposedly, the future pair engaged in discussion, and observers recognized their chemistry, which led to their romance.

In May 2001, one month after Lisa Marie disclosed that she and Oszajca had canceled their 16-month engagement, the couple went public with their romance. They were infamous for their heated arguments, culminating with Lisa Marie throwing her engagement ring into the water during a violent brawl aboard a boat.

She reportedly threw the yellow diamond ring worth $65,000 and weighing six carats into the ocean off the coast of California before escaping via helicopter. Cage recruited a group of divers to explore the water for the rock, but they were unsuccessful.

In August 2002, just two years into their "intense" romance, the couple eloped to Hawaii to get married, with Lisa Marie later admitting: "Marrying him was a wild flurry, a crazy concept, and being young, and 'Ahhh!'"

However, Cage filed for divorce 107 days later, and the marriage ended in 2004. During an interview on Larry King Live in 2003, Lisa Marie provided insight into their relationship by stating, "It seems beautiful that we might be equal." Similar circumstances and backgrounds.

However, this sort of attitude and personality clash led to the dissolution of the marriage. Claims that Cage only married Lisa Marie because of his devotion to the King of Rock 'n' Roll developed as a second significant issue. Elvis even inspired Cage's outrageous act in the David Lynch film Wild at Heart.
