Shayne Lamas' condition took a turn for the worse on Feb. 14. The 28-year-old "Bachelor" alum was hospitalized on Feb. 9 after collapsing in her Orange County home. Lamas, who was pregnant with her second child, lost the unborn baby in an emergency surgery.
According to TMZ, upon arriving at the hospital doctors determined that the reality star had internal bleeding around her uterus. Her diagnosis was considered serious but she was expected to pull through. On Monday, Feb. 17, her husband Nik Richie posted an update on his wife's condition.
"I'm still working from the ICU. This has been the toughest week of my life, but my love for Shayne Lamas has grown tremendously. My wife is a true fighter. Her heart gave out on Valentine's Day and we had to start the rehabilitation process all over again," he wrote in a blog post on TabRag.
"Thank you to Dr. Marquez for saving Shayne's life (again). Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers - they are working!... Thank you to Shayne Lamas for not giving up. Press wants her mom back!"
Her family also issued a statement last week asking people for prayers and privacy.
"We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable. She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying," her father, Lorenzo Lamas told People magazine. "We are so grateful to the hospital personnel and the doctors who saved her life last night."
Lamas, who won Season 12 of "The Bachelor" and her husband Nik Riche, founder of TheDirty.com, married in Las Vegas four years ago after only knowing each other for a few hours. The couple has a 2-year-old daughter together named Press.
