Lisa Loring, the actress who portrayed Wednesday Addams on the original television version of The Addams Family, has passed away. She was 64 years old.

Loring's daughter Vanessa Foumberg announced that she passed away on Saturday night at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. Lisa Loring's cause of death was complications from a stroke brought on by high blood pressure.

With her daughters Vanessa and Marianne at her side, Lisa Loring passed "peacefully," according to Hollywood Reporter.

The Addams Family on ABC is a dark comedy, and Lisa Loring is most remembered for her 1964 performance as the macabre, pig-tailed Wednesday Addams.

An Icon of Television

In her brief two years as Wednesday Addams, she established the standard for future live-action depictions of the character and was recently cited as an influence on Jenna Ortega's portrayal on the critically acclaimed Netflix series.

She had a major stroke four days ago, and the doctors say it was due to her long history of "smoking and high blood pressure." The post said that she had been on life support for three days before the news of Lisa Loring dead.

Her family made the heartbreaking choice to remove it yesterday, and she died last night as a result, as reported by Vulture.

Born Lisa Ann DeCinces in Kwajelein, Marshall Islands, on February 16, 1958, Loring also appeared in other television shows like The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., Fantasy Island, The Phyllis Diller Show, As the World Turns, and Barnaby Jones, according to Deadline.

In 1977's Halloween with the New Addams Family, Loring came back as Wednesday for another televised outing. Lisa Loring's most recent acting role was in the 2015 comedy-horror movie "Doctor Spine."
