The Georgia grand jury handling the investigation on former United States President Donald Trump has released its partial report of the probe, warning that some witnesses, including high-profile allies of the Republican businessman, may have committed perjury.
The investigation, which sought to determine whether or not Trump and his allies attempted to overturn the 2020 election in the state, unanimously concluded that there was no evidence of voter fraud, despite the former president's claims. The jury rejected Trump's conspiracy theories after various election officials, poll workers, and experts provided testimonies.
Georgia Grand Jury's Partial Report
However, the grand jury recommended that the Fulton County district attorney consider filing perjury charges against some witnesses. Parts of the grand jury's report were released on Thursday and revealed two significant findings in the months-long investigation but left many questions unanswered.
Earlier this week, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ordered the partial release of the investigation. In his order, he wrote that the report's introduction and conclusion would be made public, similar to the grand jury's concerns about witnesses lying under oath, as per CNN.
Within the investigation, the 26-member grand jury panel operated behind closed doors for the past few months. They started hearing evidence on June 1, 2022, from 75 witnesses who played various roles in Georgia's 2020 elections.
The panel also reviewed physical and digital evidence regarding the case and heard, as well as testimonies from investigators. A team of assistant district attorneys also outlined the applicable statutes and procedures for the grand jury.
In an excerpt from the report, the grand jury panel set forth their recommendations and relevant statutes, including the Grand Jurors' votes. It added that the information includes the votes respective to each topic in the case indicated in a "Yea/Nay'Abstain" format.

Trump's False Claims of Election Fraud
The investigation has been considered one of the most significant legal threats to the former president due to his involvement in pressuring election officials in Georgia. According to the New York Times, he allegedly ordered them to find him enough votes to overturn his election loss in the state.
The judge in the case ordering the extensive redactions of the jury's report, which is an attempt to protect the due process rights of individuals involved, suggests that the panel had, in fact, recommended indictments. Furthermore, Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis said that a decision on bringing charges is "imminent."
On the other hand, former President Trump portrayed the contents of the partial report very differently on his Truth Social platform. The Republican businessman on Thursday thanked the Special Grand Jury and the state of Georgia for their patriotism and courage.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said that the partial report did not mention Trump's name and was not related to the former president.
He added that the Republican businessman participated in two perfect phone calls about election integrity in Georgia. The spokesman said that Trump wanted to ensure election safety, security, and integrity, said Fox News.
