Russia sees the Ukrainians getting US Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) as problematic, and hesitating to get cheap Iranian missiles is a good option. Iran sent a lot of Shahed-136 that terrorized Kyiv, and it was a serious threat to the west that sanctions were imposed.

US ATACMS Worry Russia

Tehran is seen, according to geopolitical experts, as keen to develop military ties with Moscow. But the official has not committed to the purchase of long-range ballistic missiles purchases even with increased usage of such weapons, reported Eurasian Times.

Compared to more expensive missiles made in Russia that are cheaper, transonic, or can travel much faster supersonic. If Kyiv gets the ATACMS from the US, that can attack deeper, which it wants to prevent. Ukrainians are notorious for attacking non-combatants.

This ATACMS platform is armed with a 375-pound warhead that can hit about 190 miles as its range, placing many military bases in a range of it that will be something the Russian military does not want, per US Army Mil.

Washington sees the military partnership with the two as a threat to its ability to throttle Tehran whenever it wants. The US has roped in European officials to bolster support against the Tehran-Moscow tandem.

Observed in the Ukraine war is an insidious pattern that the west uses to gain support for the Zelensky regime. They've targeted Moscow and its partners by using unverified information to cast dissension but have mainly failed. A disclosure by the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, claimed that the Kremlin would offer Iran help with its advanced missile program should it support the Ukraine conflict.

He stated that Iran gave supplies of kamikaze drones that rained down on Kyiv last year, showing closer cooperation than ever as well, noted Business Insider.

The west alleges that the Russian forces don't have enough precision weapons in stock despite the regular bombing of Ukrainian targets. Adding that a shortage could force Moscow to buy these Iranian missiles.

Cheap Iranian Missiles Poses as Threat

Russia's assistance to Tehran in the 1990s is crucial to amassing the largest ballistic missiles in the Middle East. This was verified by the US Defense Department as, with extreme accuracy, advanced by 2019. Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian remarked that both countries have been working together in defense matters for a long time. He did not verify if arms were exported to Moscow.

The US instead claimed that Moscow might provide Iran with Su-35 and more because Russians cannot restore their supplies fast enough, mentioned Politico.

Pentagon officials are hyping interest in long-range missiles. Western sources alleged an exchange deal for weapons and missiles, adding that fears of repercussions stopped it.

Claims that Moscow struggles to amp up its production like a struggling west were speculated. Several missiles like the Fateh-313 and Zulfiqar ballistic missiles with 500 to 700 km range will refill the stockpiles.

Opposition to Tehran helping Moscow has not stopped anything, even if redundant threats of sanction are warned. Sanctions are becoming empty threats, as seen in what is happening in Ukraine. Now China is cautioned not to help Russia as well. Russia is seen as getting cheap Iranian missiles to use against US ATACMS in the backdrop of a shortage.
