The road toward the end of the NBA season has become tougher for the Dallas Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns as they lose superstars due to injuries.

On Wednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks lost 113-106 to the New Orleans Pelicans, with Luka Doncic injury sustained in the process.

Luka Doncic had to exit Wednesday night's game against New Orleans due to what the Mavs described as a "left thigh strain" after dealing with an injury to his left thigh that he sustained this recent weekend against the Phoenix Suns, according to Sports Illustrated.

Doncic updated the media on his injury after the game, saying it was "not good" and that he would receive an MRI the following day.

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd remarked: "We all can see that he's not moving well. Shooting, defense; It's affecting everything." He expressed hope that Luka Doncic injury is not severe.

Luka Doncic is averaging a league-best 33.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game this season, according to Sporting News.

Kevin Durant's Scary Injury Caught on Cam

Meanwhile, there will be a little delay in Kevin Durant's Phoenix Suns home debut. The 13-time All-Star injured his left ankle against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night after tripping during pregame warmups.

Kevin Durant's home debut with his new club was slated to occur during the contest. After being moved to the Suns, he has participated in three games, all of which were away from home.

Further testing will be conducted tomorrow, according to Suns head coach Monty Williams.

Kevin Durant inury happened when he was driving to the hoop during warm-ups when he twisted his left ankle as he leaped, as shown on video. The Phoenix Suns eventually announced that Durant would miss the game, but he promptly got back up and resumed his pregame preparations, The New York Post reported.

During the game, he was not a reserve. With Torrey Craig starting in Durant's stead, the Suns cruised to their fourth consecutive victory, 132-101. Superstar guard Devin Booker collected 44 points.
