A chilling video reveals when a shooter opened fire in broad daylight and fatally shot a 17-year-old budding rapper, according to his pals.

On Wednesday, Graig Bassett, a member of the gang "Spook Hoodstar," was shot in the chest inside a deli on Saratoga Avenue in Brownsville in what police are investigating as a probable gang-related assault.

NYC Victim Shot Dead Near High School

In the shocking video, the offender can be seen striding out of a deli on Saratoga Avenue, drawing his pistol from his belt, and firing the fatal shot that killed Bassett, who was unarmed.

The footage, which the NYPD provided, shows the assailant fleeing down the street after the 5 p.m. assault; he is still at large. According to reports, police hope that DNA extracted from a bottle the shooter discarded at the crime site may assist in identifying him.

A neighbor who did not wish to be recognized recalled an event that occurred a few weeks ago when he claimed that youths armed with firearms pursued Bassett's elder sister into the house and fired bullets at it.

Jose Rivera, who lives across the street from the shooting scene, witnessed Bassett's dying moments when he ran outside because one gunfire damaged his car. The suspect is a boy in his late teens or early twenties with a dark complexion, medium frame, black hair, and brown eyes, according to the police.

He was last seen wearing black Nike sneakers, leggings, a black jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black face mask. Per NY Post, the incident occurred one day after an outbreak of gang-related violence in Upper Manhattan wounded three individuals, including two high school students, with gunshot wounds.

Similarly, on Tuesday, a New York City teen was shot two blocks from a high school on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Police say they captured the perpetrator as he attempted to flee in a yellow cab, Fox News reported.

Police stated that officers responded to a complaint of a gunshot at West 68th Street and Amsterdam Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. NYPD authorities told reporters at a news conference that four or five boys were involved in a physical altercation when a 19-year-old man produced a gun and shot a 17-year-old male numerous times in the abdomen.

The injured adolescent fled two streets to his high school, where he contacted 911. Police said the incident did not take place at the high school. According to authorities, medical professionals took the teen to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition. Tuesday afternoon, following the adolescent's operation, police planned to talk with him.

Around one block away from the incident, the suspect was captured in a yellow taxicab, according to the police. The 19-year-old suspect had three past arrests, including two for drug sales in 2023 and an armed robbery with a handgun accusation from 2021. The police said that he was out on bond for the second incident. According to reports, the incident occurred near Martin Luther King High School, one of several high schools on the same street.

Teens Attack Autistic Boy on New York Subway

Moreover, another horrible moment was caught on video: three teenagers launched a racist assault on a black autistic teen and took him off a New York City subway at rush hour, leaving him with facial and body wounds requiring stitches. The unidentified 15-year-old victim was coming off the northbound A train at the West 181 Street, and Fort Washington Avenue stops at about 5:30 p.m. on Friday when he was attacked without provocation.

The video depicts a female attacker pulling the victim by his hoodie and dragging him around while other youths shout and curse at the victim and yell racist slurs.

As the child attempted to flee by re-entering the subway, the female attacker followed him and began hitting him, dragging him off the train and onto the platform. He is blocked by a group of youths who are all throwing fists, as seen on film.

Throughout the assault, the victim was struck in the face and body many times. His spectacles were also shattered during the vicious assault. A DCPI spokeswoman informed DailyMail.com that he had a lip laceration and agony throughout his body.

The footage shows the child attempting to fight back, but he was quickly outnumbered, pulled to the ground, and pummeled. Many witnesses captured the savage attack on their cell phones.

The victim's mother, who feared for her and her son's safety and did not wish to divulge her identity, told ABC7 News that she refuses to view the video. She stated, "No parent wants to witness their child being attacked."

The boy's mother, who characterized him as having autism with high-functioning, stated that she knew he had been out Friday night. She stated that she was unaware that he had been assaulted until she received a call from the police informing her that her son was in the hospital.

She stated that he had injuries on his face and body that required sutures. But, she discussed the psychological scars her kid would now bear due to the terrible attack. She informed the news organization that her kid was unaware of his assailants and their motivation.
