While New York prosecutors examine charges against Donald Trump related to a hush-money payoff to a porn actress, the former US President stated on Saturday that he anticipates being arrested on Tuesday and urged his followers to demonstrate.

Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social account that unlawful leaks from "a corrupt and highly political Manhattan district attorney's office... indicate that with no crime being able to be proven... the far and away leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday of next week."

Donald Trump's spokesperson said that the ex-POTUS had not been told of any arrest. The Republican leader did not mention prospective charges or present proof of district attorney leaks in his post. Trump told his supporters: "Protest, take our nation back!", according to a Reuters report.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Trump's followers attacked the US Capitol building and attempted to topple his failure to win the 2020 US presidential elections.

Bragg reassured his 1,600 employees in an internal email that they would be secure after Trump's comments and that "any specific or genuine threats" would be examined, per an AP News story. "I don't know who this Alvin Bragg is, but just take a look at how terrible NYC is, and to try to arrest Donald Trump for money paid to Stormy Daniels, is kinda dumb. What is the crime? We've seen lots of crap with Biden's son and family in general but nothing happens to them."

On the other hand, critics slammed the former president's latest controversial Donald Trump protest statements.
