Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis Custody Battle
Olivia Wilde alleges in her declaration that she assumed things were going toward a more peaceful resolution early this year, but was shocked by Jason Sudeikis' legal strategies. When the two were sighted together in Los Angeles in January, rumors began to circulate that they were reuniting; however, their recent court battles indicate otherwise.
Due in large part to the fact that Wilde lives in Los Angeles and Jason lives in New York City, the exes have been embroiled in a nasty bi-coastal custody battle for the past several years, which caused major controversy when the actress was served with custody papers while on stage in front of 4,000 industry insiders.
Wilde argues that even this is not entirely accurate, as Sudeikis' sisters now reside in the townhouse they own in Brooklyn, and Jason only resides with them while he is in town. Wilde and Sudeikis originally appeared to be on the same page after their divorce in 2020; they were amicable and prioritized their children.
Then, Wilde met Harry Styles at an Irving Azoff party. Wilde was commencing production on her directorial first picture, Don't Worry Sweetheart, in which she also appeared. Wilde's violent altercation with the lead actor, Shia LaBouf, brought the tension off-set to the forefront. Wilde replaced him with Harry, who had just a few acting appearances before to his departure.
When they were seen holding hands in public in January 2021, speculations that Wilde and Harry were more than simply friends and co-stars were verified. Harry confirmed the relationship by referring to her as his "girlfriend." Shortly thereafter, her amicable co-parenting relationship with Jason turned hostile. Wilde was served with legal documents about the custody of Otis and Daisy in April 2022 while she was delivering a speech about her newest film, Don't Worry Darling.
Olivia Wilde stated in court documents acquired by DailyMail.com that she and Jason had previously arranged for the children to complete the school year in Los Angeles while he shot Ted Lasso. Wilde was speaking with movie producers at CinemaCon when a process server walked on stage and delivered her legal documents.
Afterward, Sudeikis apologized to Wilde, stating that he was "very, extremely sorry" and that he "truly regretted" how she was served. His statement explained why he was disputing the previously agreed upon child custody agreement. In addition, he added that Wilde had informed him that she was considering moving the children to London, where she intended to reside with Harry at the height of their infatuation.
