No. 1 Syracuse escaped an upset by NC State on Saturday with a 56-55 win to remain unbeaten. The Orange (25-0) pulled ahead of NC State with senior forward C.J. Fair's game-winning layup, which left 6.7 seconds in regulation, according to ESPN.

"I think moving forward for us to be a good team, we've got to play better offense," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said, via ESPN. "I don't look at our record. I feel like we played about really, overall well enough to be 20-5."

Fair leads a well-rounded Syracuse offense with 16.5 points per game. Sophomore guard Trevor Cooney (13.6), sophomore forward Jerami Grant (12.5) and freshman guard Tyler Ennis (11.8) all average double-digit scores per game; Grant and Fair lead the team in rebounding with 7.2 and 5.8 boards per contest, respectively.

Boston College, meanwhile, is looking to end a disappointing season on a strong note.

Wednesday's contest could be the highlight of the Eagles' season if they can pull out an upset over the nation's top team. Boston College (6-19) has lost five straight games, including a 73-69 loss on Sunday to Notre Dame, and is all but guaranteed to be watching March's NCAA tournament from home.

Although the Eagles have struggled all season, Boeheim doesn't want his players expecting an easy win.

"We had all kinds of trouble at Boston College," he said. "And that's the way it's going to be."
