Mississippi police arrested a man after hiding a gun folded in a Taco Bell quesadilla amid a traffic stop. Picayune Police Department Neighborhood Enhancement Team officers discovered that the Mexican dish from the giant fast-food chain had a surprising filling upon searching the vehicle.
It turned out that the passenger used the Taco Bell quesadilla to hide his spicy belonging.
Mississippi Police Find a Gun Folded in a Taco Bell Quesadilla
According to The New York Post, the Mississippi officers flagged a vehicle after the woman behind the wheel, Olivia Neff, violated a traffic rule. The cops searched the stopped car after reportedly seeing its passenger, Devin P. Mitchell, stuff a handgun into a Taco Bell bag.
Fox 8 News reports that the Picayune Police Department Neighborhood Enhancement Team noted that they had probable cause to search. With that, the police were prompted to search the vehicle, asking the driver and the passenger to leave their car.
Upon searching, they found a spicy surprise. The quesadilla inside the Taco Bell bag of the passenger had a strange filling, a gun, apart from the usual tasty stuffings.
The Picayune Police Department posted about their strange encounter on Facebook, using the hashtag "tacoaboutnotcool." But besides the gun-filled quesadilla, the cops found other seriously alarming items.
Vehicle Search Also Discovered Illegal Drugs
When the police searched the vehicle, they also discovered a stash of liquid heroin, drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine, according to the local cops. Because of this, the authorities charged the passenger for hiding a gun in a Taco Bell meal and possessing illegal drugs.
The Mississippi man is now facing multiple charges. As per The New York Daily News, the police slapped the passenger with a "possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm" charge."
On top of that, he was also charged with "possession of paraphernalia," "possession of a weapon by a felon," and "possession of a controlled substance." He also faces a "tampering with physical evidence" charge for hiding the gun in the Mexican meal. Mitchell is now in the custody of the police, contrary to the driver of a vehicle that caused the traffic stop.
On the other hand, the driver of the pulled-over vehicle, Neff, received a "disregarding traffic device" charge for her violation. But unlike her passenger, the cops did not take her into custody.
What started as a traffic violation ended with a surprising discovery of illegal drugs, paraphernalia, and a gun hidden in a Taco Bell meal. What a spicy surprise, indeed.
