- Sen. Lindsey Graham slammed Marjorie Taylor Greene for supporting a Pentagon leaker
- Graham questioned Jack Teixeira's access to Pentagon classified documents
- Teixeira faces 15 years of imprisonment
After Sen. Lindsey Graham criticized Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene for defending the Air National Guardsman apprehended by the FBI for purportedly leaking national security documents, she retaliated.
Greene defended Jack Teixeira, whom she mistakenly referred to as Jake, a US Air National Guard member who allegedly leaked classified documents to members of his private Discord server.

Teixeira was apprehended by federal law enforcement on Thursday and arraigned on Friday concerning the disclosure. Graham indirectly criticized Greene without identifying her during a Sunday interview with ABC News journalist Jon Karl.
"It is irresponsible for any member of Congress to suggest that it is okay to leak classified information because they support the cause," he said. Teixeira was officially accused of disclosing classified documents on Friday, as per The Independent. In response to Graham's criticism of her remark, Greene altered an image of Graham with CNN anchor Dana Bash and posted it on Twitter.
Greene has repeatedly opposed US involvement in the Ukrainian conflict. Teixeira appeared in court in Boston, Massachusetts, to face two accusations of disclosing classified information at the time of her remarks.
Longtime South Carolina Republican senator and former National Guardsman Lindsey Graham are perplexed about how Teixeira gained access to such sensitive information. Former CIA Director John Brennan also criticized Greene's remarks, claiming that her defense indicates she is unsuited to hold elected office.
Brennan stated, "From my perspective, I think Marjorie Taylor Greene has demonstrated time and time again that she's not fit to hold public office with some of her commentary that she has made, even previously."
Per USA Today, Brennan added that Greene, a House Committee on Homeland Security member, should not have access to classified information in light of her statements.
Jack Teixeira Case
President Joe Biden stated on Friday that he had directed investigators to determine why the alleged leaker had access to the classified information, which included records purportedly disclosing details of Ukrainian military vulnerabilities and embarrassed Washington by exposing its spying on allies.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a member of the Senate intelligence committee, stated that the committee intends to conduct a comprehensive investigation. She also stated that senators would receive a briefing on the disclosure upon their return to Washington, DC, this week following Spring break.
Two federal complaints were filed against Teixeira under the Espionage Act for his alleged role in the Pentagon disclosure. According to Daily Mail, if convicted of unlawfully obtaining and disclosing classified information and military secrets, he faces 15 years in prison. However, it is still being determined how Teixeira, who resided with his mother in North Dighton, Massachusetts, obtained access to confidential documents.
As a member of the National Guard in 2021, Teixeira received a high-security clearance, according to the indictment. He worked as an entry-level cyber security specialist for the intelligence branch at the Otis Air National Guard Base in western Cape Cod.
Before the breach was discovered, he posted the treasure trove of top-secret files under the online alias 'Jack the Dripper' for months. The next hearing for Teixeira has been scheduled for April 19.
