A bear in Canada managed to chug down nearly 70 cans of soda after breaking into a car in the middle of the night. But it looks like the furry intruder has a sweet tooth. It avoided a few cans that were diet versions.
A resident from British Columbia narrates that a black bear broke into her truck, which had a lot of soda cans, including cola, orange soda, and rootbeer.
Canadian Bear Drank 69 Cans of Soda
According to a report by CBC, the bizarre incident began at around 3 in the morning, the owner of the vehicle, Sharon Rosel, narrates. She further notes that "he was drinking massive amounts of soda."
The black bear had broken into her car when she saw the furry intruder. When she peeked from the balcony of her home to check out what was happening outside, she saw a bear with shattered glass, suggesting that it had smashed the window of her truck. Besides the pieces of glass, she saw dozens of crushed soda cans.
The furry intruder started gulping the orange soda in the vehicle of Rosel. The black bear continued his quest by drinking the cola next. After which, it chugs down cans of root beers.
A bear drinking staggering amounts of soda is already a bizarre sighting. However, what was even more surprising was that the bear avoided drinking the diet counterpart of these cans of sodas. So it abandoned three cans after slurping the rest of the 69 cans. The furry animal seems unimpressed with the diet version, which brands tout to taste strikingly the same as its sugary counterpart.
Car Owner Watched the Bear Drink Soda for Over an Hour
Business Insider reports that the owner of the vehicle, Rosel, claimed she stayed there watching the furry intruder finish off its binge-drinking session for over an hour. Initially, she tried to lure the bear away from her truck.
She attempted to throw cold water into the intruder, but I never got bothered by it. So Rosel tried to be pretty diplomatic, telling the furry animal she needed to drive her car in the morning as she asked it to leave. Jalopnik suggests that the vehicle could be a Chevrolet Tracker.
That is not all. Rosel told CBC that she also tried to scare it away by pretending to be a bear hunter. "I tried psyching him out by telling him I was a bear hunter," the car owner says. But none of those worked. She ended up watching her intruder instead until it finished drinking 69 sodas in roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes while avoiding diet cola.
