The famous 'Twilight' franchise is reportedly on its way to TV, with a series now in its early stages of development. The show based on Stephanie Meyes's books is heading to Lionsgate TV.

The series adaptation of 'Twilight' took over a decade or 12 years since fans watched its final movie, 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2,' on the big screen in 2012. The development comes amid the upcoming 'Harry Potter' show on HBO Max, which would be known as Max.

'Twilight' TV Series Finally in the Works

According to an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporter, its unnamed sources disclose that 'The Twilight Saga' is heading to TV. For now, the series or show is still in its early stages of development. And as such, only scant details are now available to the public. The release date, plot, and cast members have yet to be confirmed.

But despite that, sources reveal that the author of the best-selling book series, Stephenie Meyer, will be part of the development of the TV adaptation. However, it remains to be seen if the show will be based on her written works.

Apart from the best-selling author, Sinead Daly is reportedly part of the TV treatment. Daly is known for her scriptwriting works for shows like 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond,' 'The Get Down," and "Tell Me Lies.'

Meanwhile, the former co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, Erik Feig, reportedly sits as the show's executive producer. The producer of the 'The Twilight Saga' movie series, Wyck Godfrey, is also back to take a similar role. Variety notes that Godfrey and his production firm, Temple Hill, produced all the 'Twilight' films. He will be heavily involved in producing its TV series adaptation this time.

Lionsgate has kept mum about the 'Twilight' TV adaptation until now. So take this with a grain of salt to avoid disappointments. It is worth noting that it is still in its early stage of development. So the project still has a huge chance of never really taking off.
