Premier League Youngster Left Severely Disabled After Suspected Drink Spiking on Night Out

The paramedics worked on Cain for almost half an hour before they got his heart beating again

A former Arsenal academy player has been left with severe injuries after his drink was spiked on a night out.

Daniel Cain was an avid footballer who was fit and healthy. Cain played for both Arsenal and Barnet FC development centers and is an electrician. However, his life changed in June 2020 when his drink spiked, and he suffered a cardiac arrest, as reported by LadBible.

The paramedics worked on Cain for almost half an hour before they got his heart beating again. During this time, his brain and spinal cord were starved of oxygen, which left him in a severe condition.

After 25 days, Cain came around and is improving all the time. Cain's long-term memory is also intact.

After two-and-a-half years, Cain went back home with round-the-clock care and was in his wheelchair to get around.

Now, Cain's family is raising funds to get him intensive rehabilitation therapy, allowing him to walk again.

Cain can regain the full use of his legs, which will make him stand and walk again. Cain will need a lot of intensive and expensive rehabilitation therapy to make this happen.

The Dangers of Spiked Drinks

Spiked drinks, also known as date rape drugs, are a serious danger to both men and women. These drugs are often slipped into drinks without the person's knowledge and can cause a range of effects, including unconsciousness, memory loss, and impaired judgment.

The most common types of spiked drinks are alcohol-based and include drugs such as Rohypnol, GHB, and ketamine. These drugs can be difficult to detect, as they are often odorless and tasteless.

It's important to be aware of the risks of spiked drinks and to take steps to protect yourself. One of the best ways to stay safe is never to leave your drink unattended and to always keep an eye on it.

If you suspect that your drink may have been spiked, it's important to seek medical attention right away. Symptoms of spiked drinks can include confusion, disorientation, and difficulty moving.

Remember, the best way to prevent spiked drinks is to be aware of your surroundings and always watch your drink. Stay safe and always be aware of the risks.

In addition to being vigilant about your drink, it's also important to be aware of the people around you. If someone makes you uncomfortable or pressures you into drinking more than you want, trust your instincts and remove yourself from the situation.Traveling with a friend or group of friends is also a good idea whenever possible. Having someone else looking out for each other can help keep everyone safe.

If going out alone cannot be avoided, ensure that someone knows where you are and when they should expect to hear from you again. This way, if anything does happen, there will be others who know something might have gone wrong and can take steps toward getting help as soon as possible.

Finally, remember that drug-facilitated sexual assault (DFSA) is never the victim's fault - no matter what precautions were taken beforehand. It's always okay to seek medical attention immediately after any suspicious symptoms arise without judgment on oneself; seeking care ensures both physical safety in treating effects like blacking-out or seizures and provides an opportunity for forensic evidence preservation if necessary later down the line during investigation proceedings.
