White House State Dinner 2023: North Korea's Nuclear Attack to 'End' Regime; S. Korea Pres. Yoon Meets Elon Musk

Biden strengthens commitment to protect South Korea from any threats from the North.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's US visit prompted Biden to vow that any nuclear attack by North Korea would "end" the regime of the North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

The South Korean President visited the White House to celebrate the 70-year-old friendship between the two countries. Yoon and Biden talked about the issues regarding the nuclear weaponry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), known by many as North Korea.

South Korean President US Visit: ​​Biden Warns North Korea Against Nuclear Attack

As per a report by The New York Times, President Biden hosted the visit of the South Korean leader at the White House as part of his state visit to the country.

During the state dinner, which US First Lady Jill Biden and the first lady of South Korea, Kim Keon Hee, attended, Biden issued a warning against North Korea. The US President promised South Korea that any nuclear attacks by the North would end up in a drastic dismantling of the regime of the dictator, Kim Jong Un.

Biden boldly said that any nuclear attack by the DPRK would "result in the end" of the current government led by the son of the late dictator Kim Jong Il. He much these remarks as he vowed to protect South Korea from such attacks.

On top of that, the US President also formally confirmed that Washington is sending South Korea a few nuclear ballistic missile submarines. The New York Times notes that it is the first instance that the White House has made such a move in recent times.

Besides these pronouncements, Biden also gave the South Korean leadership the central role in its plan to use nuclear weapons if the conflict with the North arises.

South Korean President US Visit

USA Today posted photos of the state visit of the South Korean President to the White House, which no less than President Biden hosted. They also had a bilateral meeting in the Oval Office, the formal working space of the American leader, and a joint press conference, apart from the state dinner in the evening.

The photos featured high-profile personalities attending the state dinner with the Korean leader, including the actress Angelina Jolie and Maddox Jolie-Pitt.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist. Chloe Kim and Filipino singer Lea Salonga were also present during the event hosted by Biden. South Korean baseball pitcher Chan Ho Park and Rie Park attended the state dinner, celebrating the long-time friendship between the US and South Korea.

As per a report by Yahoo Finance, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, who owns SpaceX, Tesla, and Twitter, met with the South Korean President during his state visit to Washington. The senior economic secretary of the Korean leader, Choi Sang-mok, believes that South Korea could be a potential location for the next Gigafactory of Tesla.
