In Texas, the manhunt for a 38-year-old man suspected of killing five of his neighbors has intensified.
While a man from Washington County, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to five years in prison after shooting a Doordash driver in February 2022. And this week, a preschool teacher who worked on the Stanford University campus and her companion were detained for murder. Here's the latest crime news around the US!
Texas Man Kills 5 Neighbors
On Sunday, more than 200 law enforcement officers in Texas searched for a man accused of killing five neighbors in Cleveland, Texas after being requested to cease firing a semiautomatic rifle.
Francisco Oropesa, 38, is accused of opening fire on neighbors after being asked to cease firing an AR-15-style rifle late Friday night because it was keeping a sleeping infant conscious. Among the victims is an 8-year-old child.
Per Reuters, FBI Houston Special Agent in Charge James Smith told reporters, "At this time, we have no leads."
Over 200 law enforcement officers are going door-to-door in San Jacinto County, according to Sheriff Greg Capers. They are searching for the suspect or any information that could lead them to him. Officials are offering a $80,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the suspect.
Capers stated that police had previously responded to the suspect's residence on multiple occasions due to complaints about gunshot in his backyard.
The victims were identified as Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25; Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 21; Julisa Molina Rivera, 31; Jose Jonathan Casarez, 18; and Daniel Enrique Laso, 8. According to the FBI, they were not members of a single family despite residing in the same residence.

Wisconsin Shooter Sentenced to 5 Years
According to reports, a man from Washington County, Wisconsin, who pleaded no contest to discharging a shotgun at a food delivery person in February 2022, was sentenced to five years in prison and the same amount of extended supervision.
John Norman, 33, entered into a plea agreement in January, pleading no contest to first-degree recklessly jeopardizing safety. As part of the agreement, the felony parole jumping allegation against Norman was dropped, as per Fox News.
On February 16, 2022, the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to allegations that a customer fired at a DoorDash employee who was delivering pizza.
An investigation revealed that Norman ordered pizza via DoorDash, and when the courier arrived with the food, the suspect discharged a shotgun explosion through the door. Norman told investigators he ordered the pizza and discharged the shotgun inadvertently when the 46-year-old female West Bend delivery driver arrived.
According to court documents, Norman was out on bond for a 2021 incident involving second-degree recklessly endangering safety
California Preschool Teacher Arrested
Officials say a preschool teacher at prestigious Stanford University was apprehended for homicide while her pupils were napping.
According to The Stanford Daily, 22-year-old Diana Ornelas was arrested for the murder of 24-year-old Oliver Waterfall while she worked at the daycare center of the top California university.
The corpse of Waterfall was discovered along a Santa Cruz County highway on April 11. He had been fatally wounded approximately one month prior, according to officials.
Police believe Ornelas was acquainted with both the victim and Dennis Novoa, 27, who was also charged in connection with the gunshot death of Waterfall, according to the news source. The intent was not immediately discernible.
