Steph Curry Scores Record-Breaking 50 Points in Game 7 Win vs. Kings
According to Sports Illustrated, Warriors star Curry booked the greatest Game 7 scoring performance ever in the entire history of NBA basketball. He scored a whopping 50 points as they attempted to eliminate the Kings in a bid to head to the Western Conference semi-finals.
Curry is the first-ever NBA player to score an impressive 50 points in a Game 7, as per NBC Sports. And as such, the new career-high performance of the Warriors sharpshooter outpaced more than a hundred Game 7s in history, which dates back to 1948.
To cap off with a 50-point record, the Warriors star collected eight rebounds, alongside six assists. On top of that, his three points shots were 7-18, whereas, on the floor, he was 20-38.
And with that, the Dub Nation is celebrating the historic Game 7 win after the Warriors secured their dynasty. But they could only rejoice for now. The Golden State is set to face the Los Angeles Lakers as the West semi-finals kick off on Tuesday, May 2.
NBA Twitter Reacts to Steph's 50-Point Performance
The NBA Twitter community could not help but react to the historic performance of Curry, which helped the Warrior continue its much-coveted dynasty in the league.
Clutch Points reports that Kevin Durant sends his high praises to the Warriors sharpshooter in his latest tweet. He called Curry "Legendary 30."
Durant previously held the record for highest scoring performance in Game 7 during the 2021 Eastern Conference Semifinals series, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks. KD scored 48 points during that game.
But this time, Curry shot two more points, breaking Durant's previous record. Unlike the latter, the Warriors shooter pulled off his historic performance without overtime.
The Warriors star also tied the record held by Karl Malone for scoring the most points in any postseason games at the 35 and up age bracket.
Meanwhile, Trae Young also tweeted his reaction to the record-breaking Game 7, saying that the 50-point scoring of the Warriors star is an "unreal performance." Damion Lee has mad respect for Curry, too, highlighting historic scoring in Game 7.
Besides these reactions, Magic Johnson also celebrated the 50-point score during Game 7, adding that it was one of the "greatest performances ever" of Curry.
