- E. Jean Carroll's civil defamation and assault case against former President Donald Trump continues with the testimony of a professional psychologist who stated that Carroll exhibited symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder.
- Carroll's sister is expected to testify in court, and Carroll's attorney hopes to finish presenting the case by Thursday.
- Jessica Leeds testified that Trump sexually attacked her on a flight in the late 1970s, which Carroll's lawyers presented as evidence of a pattern of Trump's behavior towards women.
On the sixth day of E. Jean Carroll's civil defamation and assault action against former President Donald Trump, a professional psychologist testified that the former Elle magazine writer had post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms.
Carroll filed the case in November and said that Trump defamed her by declaring her rape claims untrue and adding, "This woman is not my type!" in a 2022 Truth Social post.
Trump has rejected the rape and defamation charges, and Carroll has now added a battery charge under a New York law that allows adult survivors of sexual abuse to sue their alleged perpetrators regardless of the statute of limitations.
Not a Diagnosis
Dr. Leslie Lebowitz said in court on Wednesday that she did not diagnose E. Jean Carroll with PTSD but that Carroll did exhibit certain symptoms consistent with that diagnosis, according to ABC News.
During Carroll's examination, Lebowitz said, she grew tense and twitchy while "re-experiencing" aspects of the claimed assault.
During her evidence earlier in the week, when questioned by her attorney, Michael Ferrara, Carroll stated that she had previously felt humiliated and blamed herself for the occurrence.

E. Jean Carroll's sister is scheduled to speak in court, according to attorney Roberta A. Kaplan. Ms. Kaplan said she hopes to finish presenting Carroll's case by Thursday lunchtime, per The New York Times.
Donald Trump's attorney, Joseph Tacopina, notified Judge Lewis A. Kaplan on Tuesday that his client would not be testifying, raising the possibility that jury selection might begin early next week.
Another Woman Testifies Donald Trump Sexually Assaulted Her
On Tuesday, Jessica Leeds testified at Donald Trump's trial that he sexually attacked her on a flight in the late 1970s, long before the alleged assault on E. Jean Carroll.
Leeds said that while flying to New York City in first class, Donald Trump grabbed her breast and put his hand up her skirt. After a few seconds of intrusive touching, she managed to release herself and go to the plane's rear, AP News reported.
The purpose of calling Leeds a witness was to show that Donald Trump had a practice of attacking women and that Carroll's allegations were not isolated incidents.
Donald Trump has denied any wrongdoing on the part of sexual misbehavior, alleging that the claims are part of a larger campaign to discredit him and prevent him from being elected.
The ex-POTUS has indicated that Carroll is not his type and has accused her of lying to promote her novels. During a rally in 2016, he told his supporters that Leeds was not his first choice and used similar language to dismiss her accusations.
At the end of Donald Trump's 2016 campaign, Leeds first went public with her account of the alleged assault, saying that she did so because she was appalled by the Republican leader's claim in a debate that he had never touched women without their consent.
