Chris Pratt Likens Himself to Jesus Amid Facing Criticisms
The 43-year-old actor, Pratt, is facing criticism over his Christian faith, according to Independent UK. So amid the New York screening of the "Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 3," wherein he plays Star Lord, he answered queries about the attacks on his beliefs.
In an interview with Page Six, Pratt addresses the concerns hounding his Christian faith, wherein the actor had acknowledged backlash.
The "Guardian of the Galaxy" star told the online news outlet that Jesus Christ similarly faced widespread criticism during his time. He shrugged off the scrutiny over his faith, noting that it was not the first instance a person had experienced it.
He compared himself to the central figure of Christianity, saying that people also criticized Jesus back then. And just like him, he pointed out that "two thousand years ago they hated him, too," as per Insider.
Furthermore, the actor cites the Holy Bible as he addresses his haters. He quotes a biblical scripture: "If I were of this world, they would love me just like that, but as it is, [I have] chosen out of this world." The "Guardian of the Galaxy" star cited John 15:18 to 20.
Pratt also revealed that he used to be a salesman, which has helped him confidently face rejections in life. He emphasized that "door-to-door sales" mold him to shrug off setbacks to move ahead.

Criticisms Over Pratt's Christian Faith
Through the years, the "Super Mario Bros. Movie" actor has encountered criticism over his Christian religious belief.
Some go as far as to allege that Pratt attends Hillsong Church, which critics dub an anti-LGBT institution due to their doctrines. Some mega-church members include ultra-famous celebrities like Justin Bieber and the Kardashians.
However, Pratt denied such accusations last June 2022, Uproxx reports. He says that he has never attended the mega church. Instead, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star attends another Christian institution, Zoe Church, which reportedly still has close ties with Hillsong.
Besides the attack on his Christian faith, Pratt has been widely criticized over his voice acting role for Mario in the recent record-breaking blockbuster film, "Super Mario Bros. Movie." Similar to his stance in the backlash over his faith, he also shrugged it off.
