All season both divas, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, have been making subtle jabs at each other. There's been eye-rolling, indirect comments and the two have been obviously keeping their distance.
This week things heated up even more when Mariah Carey made a not-so-subtle jab at the rapper. While critiquing a contestant Wednesday night, Carey pointed out that Minaj has never reached the number one position on Billboard's Hot 100 single chart.
Also during the show, the two disagreed so much that Minaj pulled out Q-tips and offered them to Carey so she could clean her ears out.
Gossip celebrity writer Perez Hilton then jumped into the feud adding fuel to fire when he posted on his website that "Mariah Carey burned Nicki Minaj" on "Idol".
This sent the rapper off on a Twitter rant directed at both Hilton and Carey.
Minaj's tweet was referencing the subject of rumors that "Idol" producers reportedly considered dumping Carey in favor of former judge Jennifer Lopez earlier in the season when ratings began to plummet.
By the time the two ladies got to the show Thursday night, it was clear there was tension between the two.
