Apple iPhone 15's release date might face a delay, an analyst warned as early as now, blaming potential issues in its 48 megapixels (MP) camera upgrade.
The next-generation iPhone is set to see the shimmer of the spotlight later this year. However, it could be released at a later date compared to its older siblings.
Apple iPhone 15 Release Might Be Delayed
As per 9to5 Mac's news story, analyst Jeff Pu warned that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus might debut late due to production delays. The Cupertino-based tech firm delivers its annual iPhone launch sometime in September, followed by its shipments weeks after. But this time, there might be some changes in the yearly tradition.
In his recent newsletter, the Haitong International Securities analyst revealed his iPhone 15 predictions. However, much to the surprise of many, he also pointed out a potential delay for the upcoming flagship device due to production issues.
But what exactly is causing the hiccup in production? Pu pointed fingers at the stacked 48MP camera sensor that Apple reportedly plans to include in the non-Pro iPhone 15 lineup. As the tech behemoth tries to advance the cameras of its flagship further, some technical complexities are getting in the way. However, the analyst failed to elaborate on the details of the issue.
Despite production hiccups, the analyst still believes Apple will launch the iPhone 15 lineup this September, Phone Arena reports. However, he notes that he will "continue to monitor the risks of the production schedule."
The analyst further shared some of his exciting predictions on the upcoming device. He says all iPhone 15 phones will start sporting a UBC-C charging port, ditching the Lightning option.

iPhone 15 Stacked 48MP Camera Upgrade: What We Know
According to Apple Insider, early reports claim that the upcoming non-pro flagship lineup, which includes the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, is likely sporting a much-awaited camera upgrade. The Cupertino giant reportedly plans to significantly improve the snappers of its next-generation device by installing a stacked 48MP sensor.
The revolutionary upgrade should breathtakingly transform the image-shooting capabilities of the upcoming iPhone. The stacked sensor lets in more light than the traditional types. In turn, the photos it generates are much better in overall quality. It should allow users to post Instagram-worthy photos without spending too much time editing them, even in low-light conditions.
However, the latest update from the Apple analyst raises an existing issue in the stacked sensor. With that, the highly-anticipated iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus production might be moved to a much later date if the tech juggernaut fails to address it right away.
