Hillary Clinton admitted that US President Joe Biden's age is an issue in his 2024 presidential reelection despite his "good record."
The former Secretary of the State made such remarks during the Financial Times Weekend Festival in Washington, DC.
Hillary Clinton Says Biden's Age is an Issue
The former First Lady and Secretary of State have openly admitted that President Joe Biden's age poses an issue to his potential 2024 reelection bid, according to The Hill. Her statement surprises some, considering Clinton's affiliation with the Democratic Party and her previous support for Biden's candidacy.
However, Clinton, who unsuccessfully ran for president last 2016, argued that despite his age, Biden has a "good record" as the US President. However, she says that voters have the "right to consider" his age as a factor in re-electing him in the White House.
On top of that, the former First Lady assures everyone that she undoubtedly supports the reelection bid of Biden. The ex-Secretary of State made such remarks after the Financial Times editor, Edward Luce, asked Clinton about a recent incident involving Biden.
The 80-year-old US President almost fell while climbing the stairs at Japan's Group of Seven (G7) summit. The Financial Times editor asked the ex-First Lady if that should be a concern.
Clinton gamely answered the query. She admitted that "[it is] a concern for everyone." She further notes that Biden's predecessors, who are a lot younger than him, have previously fallen too. But she says, "People [did not] go into heart palpitations."
Given that, she notes that the age of the current US President "is an issue. And people have every right to consider it."
Clinton says that Biden barely gets the credit he deserves for leading the country. She cited his "good record" in providing "jobs," "growth," and plans for the future, including "chips and other stuff."

Biden's Age Concerns
As per The New York Post, the White House previously tried to shrug off the concerns over the age of the US President.
The White Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told former CNN anchor Don Lemon that he should not even ask questions about the top executive's age. She notes that Biden is working extremely hard to run the country.
Despite that, in a recent survey by the Washington Post and ABC News, roughly 64 percent of folks in the US believe that Biden is no longer mentally sharp to lead the country. Meanwhile, around 62 percent say he is not physically good enough to stay in the White House.
It is worth noting that President Biden, 80, is the oldest US president, Axios reports. Next to him was the former POTUS Ronald Reagan, who stepped down at 77.
