Houston (37-17) continues to improve as the season goes along. The Rockets are riding an eight-game winning streak and are looking for their ninth when they face a potential Western Conference playoff opponent.

Confidence is especially high in the Rockets' locker room after Wednesday's 134-108 rout of the Los Angeles Lakers, the former team of Rockets star Dwight Howard.

"We're always going to have fun when we're playing basketball. We love what we're doing," Howard said, via ESPN. "We're playing great, and we just want to have as much fun as possible."

Ex-Laker Steve Blake, meanwhile, could make his debut as a Warrior on Thursday. The Lakers traded Blake on Wednesday to Golden State in exchange for MarShon Brooks and Kent Bazemore. Blake, who was enjoying one of his best seasons as a pro with Los Angeles, will compete with recently-acquired guard Jordan Crawford to backup All-Star Stephen Curry, according to ESPN.

"I know both guys," Warriors coach Mark Jackson said. "And with Steve, I've watched him throughout the course of his career, and he's a guy that's not afraid of the moment. It gives us great depth and it gives us experience."

Golden State (32-22) started off the season strong but has lost eight of their last 15 games. The team is coming off a 101-92 win on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings.
