Former President Donald Trump mercilessly trolled Ron DeSantis' glitch-ridden presidential campaign launch on the Elon Musk-owned Twitter.
The Florida Governor kicked off his presidential campaign in a Twitter Spaces live. However, the stream kept crashing while Musk and David Sacks co-hosted the launch.
Donald Trump Docks DeSantis' Glitchy Twitter Presidential Campaign Launch
As per Newsweek, the ex-President of the United States (POTUS) Trump mocked DeSantis' campaign launch by comparing the latter's glitch-ridden stream to his announcement last 2022.
The Florida governor and Trump aspire for the 2024 Republican presidential race with DeSantis. Trump announced last year that he hopes to run again to secure his second term in the White House.
The former MAGA ally, DeSantis, launched his presidential campaign in a Twitter Spaces Live, which no less than its CEO, Elon Musk, co-hosted. The livestream grappled with persistent technical glitches at the start.
Due to the glitch-ridden announcement of DeSantis, Trump poked fun at the Florida governor. The former POTUS took to his Truth Social, the social media Trump owns, to share a video showing a side-by-side comparison of his announcement and the recent Twitter event.
The exp-POTUS slammed the live event, calling it a "disaster." The MAGA leader predicts, "His whole campaign will be a disaster."
Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told Newsweek that the Twitter event of DeSantis was a "complete failure."
Meanwhile, NBC News reports that the Make America Great Again Inc. spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, also shared her spicy takes on the live event on Twitter. She says, "Ron DeSantis' botched campaign announcement is another example of why he is just not ready for the job."
Twitter Spaces Crashes Amid DeSantis, Elon Musk Live
The campaign launch of DeSantis crashed and burned like a SpaceX rocket suffering from persistent technical glitches. Entrepreneur Sacks, a fan of DeSantis, pointed fingers at the overwhelming influx of Twitter users attempting to watch the presidential launch, melting down the servers of the giant social network. He downplays the glitch as a "good sign" as many people anticipated the announcement.
Besides the constant crashes, the live stream audio faced issues like echoes and feedback. In the first 20 minutes, Newsweek notes that the audience could only hear Musk and Sack speak. On the other hand, the show's star, DeSantis, is grappling with janky audio.
According to USA Today, DeSantis announced his campaign bid for the 2024 Republican presidential race as an underdog to former President Trump. Polls consistently show Trump's commanding lead in the race, whereas DeSantis lags. In the recent Reuters and Ipsos poll, the former President captured roughly 49 percent of Republican voters. On the other hand, the Florida governor only got 21 percent of the votes.
