The department store retail company Kohl's faces backlash from customers who oppose its strategy of selling LGBTQ garments for babies and young children.
Various Pride Month products are being shown off on social media sites, including the contentious "Baby Sonoma Community Pride Bodysuit set," which comes in sizes for infants as young as three months old and as old as six months, per Fox News.
Three youngsters, including a kid in a wheelchair, a lesbian couple, their dog, and one adult waving a progressive pride flag, are all shown wearing the attire.
Additionally, Kohl's introduced a Bioworld bib with the slogan "Proud of my family" with the distinctive rainbow and vibrant stripes used by the LGBTQ community, Sportskeeda reported.
Other products include a "Love Is Love" banner, towels, candles, shorts, and pillows. Shirts with messages like "Be Proud" and "Ask Me My Pronouns" are marketed.
Kohl's Boycott Calls Escalate
Conservative critics sparked #BOYCOTTKHOLS hashtags on social media as concerns were raised over Kohl's LGBTQ-themed apparel for infants and young children.
ALX, a popular online critic, posted an image of the onesie and said, "In case you need clothes for your Gay or Trans 3-month-old, Kohl's has you covered." Benny Johnson, with 1.5 million followers, questioned Kohl's strategy to offer "Pride Merch" for newborns.
Despite being first taken down for suspected hate speech, a video advertising the Pride apparel line for children earned a lot of popularity.
The account on Twitter named "End Wokeness" first raised attention to Kohl's Pride display by posting photographs of several goods with a comment condemning the store's apparent lack of learning from Bud Light and Target incidents, per the New York Post.
The backlash against Kohl's LGBTQ kids line is escalating, with some calling for a boycott like the one over Target that cost the company $10 billion in market value.
After working with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, Bud Light previously experienced criticism and a slump in sales.
