According to Lad Bible, Clovis Hung has graduated with a jaw-dropping five associate degrees from Fullerton College in California. Not only that, the 12-year-old kid made another impressive milestone.
In a world where childhood usually revolves around toys, video games, and playgrounds, the 12-year-old genius finished his collegiate studies. He graduated with a degree in Science and Mathematics, Arts and Human Expression, History, Social Sciences, and Social Behavior and Self-Development.
The brilliant 12-year-old began taking college classes at 10 after his parents homeschooled him. He discloses that he was inspired to start college early after seeing a news story about a 13-year-old boy who had graduated from college.
Hung is now the youngest ever student to have graduated college in Fullerton. He dethroned the record from Jack Rico, who graduated with four degrees at 13.
How Did Hung Graduate at 12 Years Old?
As per the New York Post, Fullerton College hosts an admission option aptly named "The Special Admit Program," which enables young minds to dive into college courses at a very tender age. Given that, Hung, who was only 12 years old, started taking courses in college.
A Fullerton Biology Professor, Kenneth Collins, admits he initially felt worried as Hung was years younger than his classmates, citing developmental differences. He was concerned about how the other students would relate to his youngest attendee. However, he eventually learned Hung was "mature enough that the other students take him seriously."
The mother of Hung, Song Choi, describes her brilliant son as "super inquisitive, mature, diligent, self-disciplined, and highly motivated." These qualities have helped the 12-year achieve what most of us could only dream of.
Hung told KABC in an interview that his classmates "treated him like a little brother." He shared that they answered him and vice versa when he asked them questions.
When Hung grows up, he ambitions to be a pilot, aerospace engineer, or pedia. But for now, he feels proud of what he has accomplished.
Hung shares that besides getting five college degrees. He has recently joined the Civic Air Patrol. And his goal is to make another impressive milestone in his life. He plans to get his hands on his pilot license at the young age of 16.
