'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' initially faced complaints regarding issues with its audio. And as such, Sony has now updated it with a new version in the theaters, fixing its overall sound.
'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' Audio Issues
The highly anticipated animated blockbuster, 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,' has a new version on the big screen. This time, it flaunts a new powerful weapon -- crystal-clear audio.
According to Collider, the latest Marvel hero blockbuster is flooding with positive comments from moviegoers across the globe. The 'Across the Spider-Verse' received an astounding 4.6 rating out of over 400,000 reviews on the film-focused social network Letterboxd. Meanwhile, on Rotten Tomatoes, it has roughly a 98 percent rating.
Vox called the new 'Spider-Man' animated film "a gorgeous, daring triumph, whereas The New York Times dubbed it a "charming sequel."
In other words, the sequel is well-loved among viewers, fans, and other moviegoers. Yet, a single complaint echoed among its viewers from various parts of the world -- a janky sound or audio mixing.
As per IGN, the sound issue hugely affects the opening sequence of Gwen Stacy, starred by Hailee Steinfeld, wherein numerous viewers say they did not hear it. Some complaints stress the poor dialogue audio throughout the film.

Sony Updates 'Across the Spider-Verse' in Theaters
If theaters had subtitles like in streaming services, it helped. But instead of adding text below the movie, Sony Pictures sent an updated copy to theaters to fix the sound issues.
Variety reports that the entertainment studio behind the 'Spider-Verse' franchise shipped a new copy of the blockbuster to movie theaters. A source of the online news outlet says Sony updated "all the prints" of the film.
Phil Lord, a writer and producer, suggested a simple solution for the dialogue issues across "select theaters" in his recent tweet. He suggests 'Spider-Verse' viewers task someone to check if the volume of the cinema is at reference seven. If it does not work and the dialogue is still impossible to hear, he suggests tweaking it to 7.5.
If you are at home, volume changes are easy with a remote, but in a cinema, it is not as easy as pressing a button. With that in mind, Sony went the extra mile to send an updated version of the web-slinging action, addressing the sound issues at low audio levels.
'Across the Spider-Verse' is the sequel to the 'Spider-Man' animated film, which centers on the story of Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore.
