Emirates gave the wrong food to a backpacker, causing her to have diarrhea.
Aftermath, the TikTok influencer posted a video to share her bad experience, saying it was the worst flight of her life.
Chloe Chapdelaine (chloe.chapdelaine) is a 25-year-old Canadian woman who loves to travel and share her experiences around the world with her TikTok fans.
She has over 300,000 followers and more than 20 million likes. The vlogger decided to make a GF airplane food vlog.
However, she didn't know that her travel with Emirates Airlines would be rough.
Emirates Gives Wrong Food To Passenger
According to LAD Bible, Chloe has a coeliac disease. Because of this, she ensures that all her food is gluten-free.
On June 5, she was in Dubai and was flying to Los Angeles via Emirates Airline.
After getting on the airplane, the Canadian vlogger was served a gluten-free continental brekky on a tray.
Unfortunately, the croissant in her breakfast tray wasn't gluten-free. When she already ate half of the pastry, she decided to check the status of the pastry with a flight attendant.
The Emirates crew staff confirmed that the bread wasn't gluten-free at all.
She said the Emirates staff told her her breakfast plate was gluten-free.
Although the croissant didn't have a gluten-free sticker, she assumed that it was indeed gluten-free since it was given to her.
She recorded herself inside a bathroom to share her "worst flight experience," reminding her TikTok fans to always check their airplane meals before eating them.
Her video was able to garner more than 2 million views and 2,500 comments. You can watch it below to see her full story.
@chloe.chapdelaine I’m feeling defeated today. I often share about gluten free travel, but not the struggles. This stuff happens too often did you spot the outlier? @Emirates #glutenfreetravel #glutenfreelife #airplanefail #celiacdisease ♬ apathy (Sped Up) - Øneheart
Emirates Responded To Her Complaint
Since Chloe's flight incident was a serious matter, Emirates responded to her complaint.
"Emirates aims to cater to all passenger-specific needs by offering a number of special meals that cover as many medical, dietary, and religious requirements as possible," said the airline company.
Emirates further stated that they take the health and safety of their passengers very seriously.
As of press time, Emirates Airline is still investigating what happened to the Canadian vlogger.
