Fox News dubbed United States President Joe Biden as a "wannabe dictator" while the network aired Donald Trump's speech after his arraignment.
Fox News Calls President Biden a 'Wannabe Dictator'
According to The Hill, Fox News branded Biden as a "wannabe dictator in its news banner while it aired Trump's speech after his arraignment on federal charges in Miami.
The chyron showed up on Fox News roughly before 9 pm amid its broadcast of Trump's speech. It reads: "WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED."
Besides the live stream of Trump's remarks, the conservative network also aired the President's speech from the White House side by side. While it briefly showed Biden, the network continued airing the audio of the former President's speech.
As Fox showed a split screen of Biden and Trump simultaneously, the chyron called the President of the United States (POTUS) an aspiring dictator.
As per Deadline, Fox News was the only major news network to air the post-arraignment speech of Trump. The Hill notes that other channels, such as MSNBC and CNN, refused to live broadcast his remarks.
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper told viewers that they "are not going to take it live, but [we will] monitor it," referring to Trump's speech. Jake Tapper adds that the former President is fond of spreading misinformation, which in some instances is "potentially dangerous."
Trump's Arraignment on Federal Charges
The MAGA leader, Trump pleaded not guilty to all the charges hurled against him. He also shrugged off all of these allegations, dismissing them as politically motivated acts by the Justice Department under the Biden administration.
However, as per The Independent, President Biden has consistently denied accusations that he had a role in the investigation of Trump's mishandling of classified files. The former President was charged for his alleged mishandling and refusal to return these documents to the federal government. The MAGA leader is now facing a total of 37 felony counts.
Trump has previously slammed Fox News over its refusal to back his unverified claims of widespread voter fraud during the last US Presidential elections. He also attacked the conservative news network for its coverage of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who recently announced his presidential run, rivaling the former president.
Despite these attacks, Fox News took a stand and aired a post-arraignment speech of Trump, going against the tide. Not only that. The former POTUS is also set to sit in a one-on-one interview with the chief political anchor of the news network, Bret Baier, sometime next week.
