Ireland won the first T20 of their series against the West Indies on Tuesday by six wickets. Ed Joyce earned the Man of the Match award for scoring a game-high 40 runs (not out). Andrew Poynter added 32 runs, and Gary Wlson and Kevin O'Brien both helped out with 18 runs and 15 runs, respectively.

On the bowling front, Tim Murtagh, Alex Cusack and Kevin O'Brien all took two wickets apiece; Max Sorensen and George Dockrell each took one wicket.

West Indies' bowlers struggled to restrict the Ireland batsmen, managing to take just four wickets in the contest - Samuel Bradree took two and both Ravi Rampaul and Sunil Narine took one apiece. Chris Gayle scored a team-high 19 runs, and Marlon Samuels and Lendl Simmons each scored 16 runs.

The second T20 will be held at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. Weather.com forecasts a partly cloudy day with a 20 percent chance of rain; temperatures could reach as high as 87 degrees Fahrenheit.
