Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving after reportedly driving a Mercedes-Benz at high speeds, wherein he crashed into a Beverly Hills house.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office charged the comedian and former "Saturday Night Live" star on Friday, June 16.
Pete Davidson Reckless Driving Charge
As per News Au, Davidson has found himself in hot water after a wild ride through the streets of Beverly Hills ended with an unfortunate crash into a house.
The LA County District Attorney's Office confirmed to NBC News that it has slapped the comedian with a misdemeanor count of reckless driving after his "involvement in a serious collision into a home." Prosecutors reveal that the crash did not leave any serious injury.
In a statement, the District Attorney's office tied the recent incident to the alarming rise of car accidents in the city. It notes that traffic fatalities in LA ballooned to all-time high figures in 20 years last 2022, as Entertainment Tonight Online reports. And as such, they are taking all reckless driving allegations with much seriousness by holding those involved accountable.
Davidson is facing serious consequences after the incident. He is set to face his arraignment late next month, or on July 27, to be precise. The representative of the "SNL" star has yet to comment on the reckless driving charge.
It does not necessarily mean that the comedian will appear in court. It comes since most misdemeanor cases in California let attorneys appear for their clients. So it remains to be seen if Davidson will personally show up.

Davidson's Car Crash in Beverly Hills
According to NBC News, Davidson's collision occurred last March 4 along the lavish residences in Beverly Hills. The comedian reached out to the authorities upon crashing his Mercedes-Benz into a house, the Beverly Hills Police Department source disclosed.
News Australia notes that the 29-year-old comedian was with his girlfriend, stunning actress Chase Sui Wonder, when his Benz jumped a curb and crashed into the corner of a home. Davidson also reportedly hit a fire hydrant before skidding on the front lawn.
The couple reportedly apologized to the Beverly Hills homeowners after the incident. The house's owner refused to bring the "SNL" star to court.
Sources say officers on the scene no longer looked into the sobriety of the comedian since his cooperative behavior and appearance suggested otherwise. Instead, the authorities pointed out that the culprit for the collision is the high speed rather than intoxication.
