With this, she is now one of the three Democratic presidential hopefuls. Since campaigning is stressful, she decided to take a break from it in the United Kingdom.

She also used her free time for the birth of her granddaughter. After this, the American best-selling author plans to attend an event at the Cambridge Union.

Although her schedule is quite hectic, Williamson was able to speak with Newsweek for an interview regarding her vision for the U.S.

"For me, running for president at that age is a bit selfish," said the 70-year-old Democrat.

Current U.S. President Joe Biden will turn 82 weeks after the 2024 U.S. election day.

If he decided to run and win his second presidential term, she will be 86 years old at the end of it. He is already considered the oldest U.S. president when he won at the age of 78 back in 2021.

Williamson's Other Concerns

Aside from being too old for the U.S. presidency, Marianne also shared her concerns regarding Biden's policies.

"It's his policies that concern me. The president is taking an incremental approach to our society's repair," said the American politician.

She said that U.S. residents who are already okay with Biden's policies are usually those who have enough healthcare and can afford to send their children to college.

Williamson further stated that if the United States lets Joe Biden win another presidential term, it will be like watching a "slow-motion crash reminiscent of 2016."

Not An Average Political Candidate

The Guardian reported that Marianne is not an average political candidate. Unlike other politicians, she is an author and wellness guru.

Williamson explained that she wants to run for the presidency because the recent U.S. election was only about Democrats defeating Donald Trump.
