Apple iPhone 15 is getting a much better Vision Pro integration as it gains a game-changer specification upgrade, according to the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The analyst, who dives into all sorts of Apple insider stuff, recently sheds light on how the Cupertino-based giant plans to improve the integration of its all-new Vision Pro platform.
Apple iPhone 15 to Get Upgraded Vision Pro Integration
According to the 9to5 Mac, the iPhone maker recently unveiled its long-anticipated Vision Pro platform amid the WWDC 2023 event this June. Apple teased what fans could expect from the next-generation platform, which sees the light of day sometime in "early 2024."
With that in mind, Apple is gearing up for the release of Vision Pro by improving the capabilities of the iPhone 15 for better platform integration. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the much-awaited iPhone 15 series will feature an upgraded Vision Pro integration, allowing users to enjoy more advanced augmented reality (AR) and spatial awareness features.
In his recent tweet, Kuo says the iPhone 15 gains an upgraded Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip. It should make the Vision Pro integration across the ecosystem more seamless. He tweeted that the tech juggernaut is working to "aggressively upgrade hard specifications" of its next-generation flagship phone.
The Apple analyst further stresses that the "ecosystem is one of the key success factors for Vision Pro, including the integration with other Apple hardware products." He notes that specific hardware upgrades, such as UWB, are striking in advancing the newly introduced platform.
And as such, Apple is reportedly beefing up the iPhone 15 with an innovative Ultra Wideband chip. Kuo points out that the all-new UWB, replacing the first-ever U1 chip, delivers better reliability and efficiency.
It is worth noting that Apple introduced the U1 chip alongside the iPhone 11 debut, gracing features like Find My, AirDrop, and Handoff. It is also present in other devices, such as the AirTag tracker and the Apple Watch, as well as the latest AirPods Pro Case and HomePod.
He specifically revealed that the upgraded UWB chip moves forward to a more advanced 7nm process, ditching the older 16nm counterpart. Thus, an impressive upgrade in performance.
More Upgrades for iPhone 16?
Besides the iPhone 15 upgrade, Kuo says Apple is gearing up to improve the Vision Pro integration for the iPhone 16 lineup.
The analyst anticipates that the "iPhone 16 will likely upgrade to WiFi 7," adding that it should cater to improved Vision Pro support. Kuo explains that next-generation technology provides a better experience in running hardware simultaneously in a local network.
As Notebook Check reported last September 2022, a leak suggests that the Apple iPhone 16 will likely ditch the WiFi 6E technology in favor of the faster WiFi 7. With the looming arrival of Vision Pro, the upgrade makes much more sense.
