Since Rock, along with other conservatives, called for the boycott of the United States' once best-selling beer, its sales have drastically dwindled.
Kid Rock Still Sells Bud Light in His Bar
The American singer, songwriter, and outspoken Bud Light critic is at the center of a surprising revelation. Despite his public criticism of the popular beer brand, it has come to light that Kid Rock's bar continues to advertise Bud Light.
As per Newsweek, Rock, known for his rebellious image and unfiltered opinions, has been a vocal critic of Bud Light.
Despite Kid Rock's outspoken stance against Bud Light, Newsweek discovered that his bar, Big Ass Honky Tonk & Rock 'N' Roll Steakhouse, still offers Bud Light to its patrons on its website.
The online menu of Rock's establishment in Tennessee still listed Bud Light, Bud Light Lime, and Budweiser, beer brands under Anheuser-Busch. The bar also listed other options like Coors Light, Miller Lite, and Busch Light.
Kid Rock vs. Bud Light
Several conservatives, including the singer-songwriter, expressed their anger against Bud Light after it collaborated with transgender influencer Mulvaney, who flaunts more than 10 million followers on TikTok.
The famous beer brand sent the trans influencer a commemorative can showcasing her face to celebrate her gender transition to girlhood. However, conservatives and other anti-trans folks did not take it lightly. And Rock is one of the prominent figures who lead the boycott campaign.
In early April, when the backlash began, Rock shared a video on Instagram wherein he fired assault rifle bullets at cases of Bud Light beers, as per The songwriter, who was wearing a MAGA (Make America Great Again) baseball hat, blurted out his disappointment. As per NME, he raised his middle finger, saying, "F**k Bud Light and f**k Anheuser-Busch.
Since then, the widespread boycott campaign has dragged down the sales of the once-best-selling beer brand in the country. According to CNN, Bud Light sales are down by roughly 25 percent year-over-year every week since the backlash against its trans partnership kicked off.
Amidst the dwindling Bud Light sales, Modelo Especial rose as the top-selling beer in the US, dethroning the long-time top notcher. And as such, the Bud Light parent firm Anheuser-Busch says it plans to extend financial assistance to its wholesalers amid the plunging sales. CEO Brendan Whitworth teased that they plan to launch a new ad campaign before the month ends.
