The investigation into the tragic implosion of the Titan is taking an exciting leap forward.

As per a report by CNN, the US Coast Guard confirmed on Sunday that it has convened a Marine Board of Investigation to look into the catastrophic implosion of the subversive. The US Coast Guard chief investigator Captain Jason Neubauer says the Coast Guard is conducting its "highest level of investigation."

In a press conference, Neubauer notes that the Marine Board of Investigation panel carries a huge responsibility as it looks into the reason behind the tragic implosion. On top of that, the panel will be offering its recommendations "to the proper authorities to pursue civil or criminal sanctions as necessary."

According to the New York Post, Transportation Safety Board of Canada investigators have boarded the mother ship of the OceanGate Titan, the Polar Prince. The investigators confirmed that they visited the lead ship to look into the voice recordings of the subversive.

Transportation Safety Board of Canada Chairwoman Kathy Fox says they board the mother ship "to collect information from the vessel's voyage data recorder." On top of that, they are also planning to check the other vessels' systems to look for any useful information.

Fox stresses that they are focused on figuring out what occurred and why it happened in the first place. And from there, they want to come up with recommendations for what needs to be done to prevent such incidents from tragically occurring once again. She notes that the voice recordings are "useful" for their probe.

The Chairwoman says the investigation seeks to investigate what needs to change to reduce the chance or the risk of such occurrences in the future."

However, she assured that the investigation does not plan to point blame to the reason behind the tragic accident.

The Titan submersive by OceanGate Expeditions carried five passengers set to visit the iconic Titanic wreckage, which sits roughly 12,500 feet below the surface.

According to The Guardian, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and founder of OceanGate Stockton Rush piloted the Titan during the implosion.

The passengers of the sub include Sulaiman Dawood, a 19-year-old, and his 48-year-old businessman dad, Shahzada. Besides them, Titanic explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77, and British billionaire Hamish Harding, 58, joined the deep sea exploration.

CNN notes that the mission to recover the debris from the catastrophic implosion of the submersible is still ongoing.
