NASCAR Delayed!
Because of the bad weather in Illinois, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race was canceled.
Concerts for the event were also suspended to ensure the safety of participants.
"Due to standing water on the street course, the resumption of the race is currently in a holding pattern," said NASCAR via its official Twitter announcement.
Because of this, some fans were asking if the Xfinity Series race would still resume. Unfortunately, NASCAR said that there was no option to return to racing before shifting to Cup Series race operations.
Due to unprecedented circumstances, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing officials declared Coles Custer the winner of the Xfinity Series.
Of course, many NASCAR fans were disappointed with this decision. If you want to see more of their comments, you can check NASCAR's official tweet below.
