"Russian political circles and the whole of society clearly demonstrated their unity and their elevated sense of responsibility for the fate of the Fatherland," said the Russian leader via DW.
Putin said that this was seen when Russia and its people responded as a united front to prevent the armed mutiny attempt of the mercenary organization.
Other Things Discussed by Putin
Aside from being confident about Russia's status, Vladimir Putin also talked about how sanctions make the Russian nation stronger.
"Russia counters all these external sanctions, pressures, and provocations and continues to develop as never before," he said.
Putin also stated that Moscow will help boost trade with the SCO partners, which now includes Iran; making the overall member count of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization nine nations.
Aside from this, the Russian leader also wants to support a transition to trade deals in local currencies.
This effort is considered to challenge Western attempts to restrict the Russian economy with sanctions.
