Lists of musical acts are scheduled to give back in a major way. Aerosmith, James Taylor, and Jimmy Buffett will perform in a Boston Marathon benefit concert slated for May 30.
According to The Washington Post, the show is collecting donations that will be distributed to survivors of the April 15 bombings. The donations will also go to the families of the victims' killed in the attacks.
The show will be held at TD Garden and artists such as New Kids on the Block, Jason Aldean, and The J. Geils Band have signed on to give fans a melodic treat.
"Like so many other proud Bostonians who have been extremely generous, we are honored to step up and do our part to help the victims and their families," said Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block. "Hopefully this event will not only raise money, but spirits as well."
According to CBS News, Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thoman Menino have set up "The One Fund Boston", a donations fund where all money will be distributed.
Taylor believes the event should be one to remember.
"The One Fund event at the Garden this May 30th is destined to be a true Boston landmark," he said. "From the promoters to the sound & lights, to the performers and the Garden staff; everyone involved has responded from the heart in a spontaneous and simultaneous desire to be there, and to do what we can for the city we love. I am honored to be a part of it, and ... I can't wait."
Comedians Dane Cook and Steven Wright are also scheduled to perform a set. All tickets will go on sale starting Monday, May 6 at 10 a.m. ET. In an effort to cut down on scalping, all tickets will be paperless, CBS News reported.
Ticket prices range from $35 to $285 and can be purchased here.
