According to Fox News' latest report, CBP officers were able to seize the Chinese psychoactive drugs in northern Virginia before reaching their final destination. Via its official press release, law enforcement stated that the fake Chinese beauty products (which were not named) were destined for an address in Washington, DC.

CBP added that the fake beauty items contained over 30 kilograms (around 70 lbs) of N, N-Dimethylpentylone Hydrochloride, a Scheduled I controlled substance, and a substituted cathinone.

Christine Waugh, the Acting Area Port for CBP's Area Port of Washington, DC, said that the synthetic stimulant market continuously experiments with cathinone's chemical compounds to create new analogs to evade law enforcement.

She added that CBP will remain committed to protecting American communities from these new illicit psychoactive drugs. Waugh promised they would work with the federal, state, and local partners to ensure that importers shipping the illegal stimulants will be held accountable.
