On Wednesday, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed a query regarding whether President Joe Biden would now recognize Navy Joan, age four, as his grandchild following the resolution of his son Hunter Biden's child support dispute.
Hunter and Lunden Roberts, both 32 years old, reached a child support agreement after the first son said he would be involved in the life of his out-of-wedlock daughter.

This could pave the way for the president to meet her grandfather if desired. Jean-Pierre stated at Wednesday's briefing, "I have nothing to report from here," before swiftly moving on to the next reporter.
The pre-school-aged girl has never met Hunter, and the Biden family has refused to consider her as a family member, with only six Christmas stockings representing the grandchildren hung at the White House.
The New York Times reported on Friday that advisers were informed during strategy sessions that the Bidens have six rather than seven grandchildren. The child with blonde hair was conceived in December 2017 while Hunter was still dating Hallie, the widow of his sibling Beau.
In his 2021 autobiography, Beautiful Things, Hunter, who was addicted to crack cocaine and plummeting at the time, claimed he did not recall the incident. Initially, it was believed that the couple met while Roberts worked as a pole dancer at Hunter's favored strip club in Washington, DC.
However, messages recovered from his abandoned laptop demonstrated that she was employed by his investment firm, Rosemont Seneca. According to DailyMail.com, Hunter Biden initially promised to provide emotional, physical, and pecuniary support to Roberts.
Instead, he mercilessly "ghosted" her, disregarding her texts and phone calls and refusing to acknowledge Navy Joan was his until Roberts sued for child support in 2019 and a court-ordered DNA test confirmed her claims.
Despite residing in a $12,000-per-month Hollywood rental and driving a Porsche, Hunter asserted in the ensuing lawsuit that he was unemployed and had no monthly income.
However, when ordered to produce his financial records, he neglected to do so repeatedly before consenting to a 2019 settlement in which he agreed to pay Roberts over $750,000 to date.
Hunter Biden Child Support Dispute
Hunter Biden unexpectedly reopened the case last September, claiming he had experienced a "significant material change" in his income, despite facing congressional and federal investigations into his financial affairs.
Roberts refused to back down and upped the ante by petitioning the court to officially rename her daughter Navy Joan Biden so that she could "benefit from bearing the Biden Family name."
Her attorneys demanded once more that Hunter disclosed all of his financial information, from his dubious business dealings in Ukraine and China to the identities of those who have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for his amateur paintings.
The agreement reached this week eliminates the need for a trial in July. Attorneys for Roberts and Hunter, whose expensive roster of attorneys reportedly includes Abbe Lowell, who reportedly charges up to $855 per hour, declined to comment.
