A member of the House Freedom Caucus confirms that Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was voted out of the group last month, which suggests that the GOP member's fight with Rep. Lauren Boebert was part of the group's reasoning.

In a statement, Freedom Caucus board member Rep. Andy Harris said that the group voted to remove Greene for some of the things she has done. When the Republican was asked whether or not the Georgia lawmaker was officially out, he responded, "As far as I know, that is the way it is."

This is the first public confirmation regarding Greene's fate within the conservative group, and when it was first reported, it was unclear whether or not she had been removed. The vote took place less than two days after the Georgia Republican was in a verbal floor fight with Boebert where the former referred to the latter as a "little b*tch."

The two lawmakers have repeatedly clashed head-on, but Harris suggested that the particular spat factored into the conservative group's reasoning to remove Greene. As per Politico, he noted that how Greene referred to Boebert was different from how they wanted group members to address each other.

The situation marks the first time the conservative caucus has removed one of its members of its own volition. It also reflects the group's increasing frustration about Greene's behavior.

The Georgia Republican has closely allied herself with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy this year, lining up against many Freedom Caucus after supporting the speaker's rocky speakership bid and his debt deal with United States President Joe Biden.

At the same time, the House Freedom Caucus is working through a post-Trump crossroads, with some members concerned that the group is becoming too friendly with the party establishment.

Arguments With Fellow Members

When asked about the situation, Greene did not comment on her membership status with the House Freedom Caucus. She said in a released statement that she would "never change" her character. The Georgia Republican added that in Congress, she serves Northwest Georgia first and foremost and not any group in Washington, according to CNN.

Greene said her America First credentials were forged in steel and seared into her character. She added that she would work with anyone who wanted to secure the U.S. border, protect children inside the womb and after birth, end the forever foreign wars, and save the country.

Despite arguing with Greene, Boebert was among those who were not enthusiastic about removing the Georgia Republican from the House Freedom Caucus. She said that she was against the idea because she wanted to respect Greene's "freedom of speech."

A GOP member said Boebert was against voting Greene out of the group despite her feud against her. Later, the Colorado representative confirmed that she came to Greene's defense on freedom of speech grounds but did not comment further on how she ultimately voted, said Yahoo News.
